future proof|Artist Talk: Post-Industrial Ecologies

Artist Dawn Felicia Knox will discuss her exhibition, Post-industrial Ecologies, grown from a decade of research moving through geology, industrial archaeology and ecology across one plot of land.Dawn has been exploring ferns found in the fossil excavated when the site was a coal mine as well as ferns on the site now actively working to undo the damage done through the extraction of coal. As we face climate catastrophes, what can we learn from the plants and fungi already navigating our wastelands?

Presented by Summerhall and ASCUS Art & Science, in partnership with Edinburgh Futures Institute
